The US Government Has Approved The Export Of Nvidia H200 To China | H200 Liquid Cooling Solution

2026年01月14日

According to CCTV News, on January 13 (local time), the U.S. government approved NVIDIA to resume exports of its H200 artificial intelligence chips to China. The decision is expected to gradually restart shipments of the H200 to Chinese customers.

As NVIDIA’s next-generation high-performance AI chip, the H200 delivers significantly increased compute density and power consumption, placing higher demands on data center thermal management systems. In response, Lian Li, a leading provider of advanced liquid cooling solutions, has proactively completed technical preparation and accelerated the deployment of customized liquid cooling solutions tailored for the H200 platform.

Designed specifically for high thermal density and sustained high-load AI workloads, Lian Li’s H200 liquid cooling solutions feature optimized cold plate structures, advanced liquid routing design, and system-level integration. These enhancements ensure efficient heat dissipation, operational stability, and long-term reliability in data center and AI training environments. The solutions are fully aligned with H200 interface specifications and thermal design requirements.

Leveraging its mature local R&D capabilities and manufacturing infrastructure, Lian Li delivers a clear advantage in engineering responsiveness and project execution. Compared with overseas alternatives, Lian Li is able to significantly shorten design validation and delivery timelines, enabling faster deployment of AI computing clusters and data center infrastructure.

At the supply chain level, Lian Li maintains close collaboration with key domestic partners. Critical components—including dedicated liquid cooling copper tubing, cold plates, and cooling fluids—have undergone rapid iteration and deep optimization to ensure seamless integration into complete H200 liquid cooling systems, forming a robust and efficient ecosystem.

Lian Li stated that it will continue to increase investment in high-performance liquid cooling technologies and strengthen collaboration across the industry value chain, providing efficient, reliable thermal solutions for global AI data centers, high-performance computing, and next-generation intelligent infrastructure.

FAQ About NVIDIA H200

1. How much does the NVIDIA H200 cost for enterprise deployment?
The NVIDIA H200 price typically ranges from $30,000 to $40,000 per unit for the individual GPU. For organizations looking at full-scale infrastructure, an integrated 8-GPU HGX H200 server can cost between $400,000 and $500,000 depending on the vendor and additional networking hardware.

2. Does the NVIDIA H200 require liquid cooling for stable operation?
While the PCIe (NVL) version can run on high-airflow systems, NVIDIA H200 liquid cooling is strongly recommended for the high-performance SXM5 variant. The H200 SXM5 has a Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 700W, which often hits the physical limits of traditional air cooling in dense rack configurations. Utilizing liquid cooling helps prevent thermal throttling, reduces data center energy consumption by up to 30%, and ensures the GPU maintains its peak clock speeds during intensive AI training cycles.

3. What are the main performance differences between the NVIDIA H200 and H100?
The primary upgrade in the NVIDIA H200 is its memory subsystem, featuring 141GB of HBM3e memory compared to the 80GB HBM3 found in the H100. This 76% increase in capacity and a 1.4x boost in memory bandwidth (up to 4.8 TB/s) allow the H200 to deliver nearly double the inference performance for large language models (LLMs) like Llama 3. While both share the Hopper architecture, the H200 is specifically optimized to handle massive datasets and "long-context" AI tasks more efficiently.
